RSA Security has announced that Nokia has selected RSA SecurID authentication software for the Nokia 9210 Communicator, which will be shipped with every Nokia phone and provide two-factor authentication for customers requiring secure access to e-mail, home banking services, intranets and extranets, and other information or applications.
With SecurID software for the Nokia 9210 Communicator, customers don`t need to carry a separate device to be able to display onetime passcodes. The 9210 will display the token code, eliminating the need for customers to carry a separate token. After an easy one-time installation process, the SecurID software is securely stored on the 9210 with safeguards to help prevent hacks or duplication.
"Secure wireless access is vital for today`s connections both in the corporate world as well as in electronic commerce and other consumer services," said Peter Burgess, territory manager: sub-Saharan Africa at RSA Security. "We look forward to working with Nokia to help bring trusted authentication solutions to the wireless market."
