SA company scoops major international partnership

Agreement with L@Wtrust provides the strongest springboard into Africa and the Middle East for global giant Entrust.
Johannesburg, 01 Dec 2006

Information security specialist L@W Trusted Third Party Services (L@Wtrust) has been appointed the distributor of Entrust solutions in South Africa.

US-based Entrust is widely recognised as a global leader in securing digital identities, boasting over 1 500 enterprises and government agencies in more than 50 countries among its clients.

"The partnership with L@Wtrust represents one of the most strategic partnerships for Entrust in its European, Middle East and African (EMEA) operations. Crucially for us, it places a solution into the local market which is able to meet the demands of rapid changes to information security practices here at home," says L@W Trust managing director Christi Peens.

"Steps to protect information are becoming increasingly crucial in the local market as the theft of identities in the banking and retail environments become more prevalent. The real issue is that sound information security practices extend far beyond the protection of identities, but should include any area where an organisation should be taking steps to protect sensitive information. Our partnership with Entrust will allow us to meet these needs across the entire spectrum of a client's operation, the first South African company to be able to do so," she says.

Peens says the maturity of the Entrust business and its ongoing investment in technology allows for a seamless integration into the local market. "Our own investment since the start of this year coupled with a major push towards acquiring the best intellectual capital into L@Wtrust is a direct benefit to our clients," she says.
