A software tender issued by the Lesotho Highlands Development Authority (LHDA) has attracted attention from many South African companies, according to the organisation's principal procurement officer Mampeo Takalimane.
A recent tender advert says technology companies are invited to "bid to supply and support the LHDA with suitable financial and construction-oriented software".
The deadline for submissions was last Friday, notes Takalimane, adding: "Many local and South African companies have expressed interest."
The value of the tender is confidential and cannot be disclosed, she adds.
The tender calls for - among other things - a construction module allowing multiple construction contracts costing, and a long-term loans module allowing for multiple foreign currency.
The organisation would not comment on when the tender will be awarded.
