QlikView South Africa, the local representative of the world's fastest-growing business intelligence company, grew its turnover by 130% during 2006 as local corporates signed up to its powerful in memory business analysis product.
"We are leading a revolution in our industry - a revolution away from traditional OLAP technology and towards a new vision of simple and powerful In Memory Analysis. Our success in the past year is a result of a relentless focus on simplicity and value for our customers," says QlikView South Africa MD Davide Hanan.
New South African clients in 2006 included Aventis, Cell C, Capitec Bank, Capespan, Distell, Fruit and Veg City, KWV, Mondi Packaging, Nedbank and Panasonic.
"Gartner has forecast that 70% of the world's top 1 000 companies will be using in-memory analysis by 2012," says Hanan. "In-memory business intelligence, unlike earlier Online Analytical Processing (OLAP) technology, holds an organisation's data in active memory. That makes data analysis and querying almost infinitely flexible and responsive, and users are much less dependent on IT staff. It's a revolutionary technology and local and international companies have been very quick to see the benefits."
Globally QlikTech, the developer of QlikView, grew its revenues by 80% during 2006, with the company adding over 3 000 customers. At the end of 2006, QlikView had over 245 000 users in 86 countries.
"This has been a tremendous year for QlikView," says Hanan. "QlikTech has been recognised by IDC as the fastest growing BI vendor in the world for the third year in a row. QlikView has been voted as 'the best execution of a Mid-Market Solution' by attendees at the Gartner Midsize Enterprise Summit. And from a technical point of view, release 7.5 has added some very exciting new features. It has also achieved a billion-record processing."
Hanan believes that if the first two months of 2007 are any reflection of what will happen this year, then his company will double its sales once again.
