SA Quest user conference draws major interest

Johannesburg, 17 Nov 2003

The second Quest Africa conference for JD Edwards (now a PeopleSoft company) users, business partners and representatives, takes place from 16 to 18 November at the Alpine Heath Resort in the northern Drakensberg.

Quest Africa aims to maximise the value of the technology to the community of users, business partners, vendors and PeopleSoft itself by facilitating interaction and education through the sharing of expertise and submission of papers.

"With more than 160 customers in SA, we are expecting our users to deliver compelling and valuable insights at Quest Africa," says PeopleSoft marketing manager Nicola Gartland. "The most important element of the conference is that it is dedicated to our users and their specific needs, which is why we are encouraging their maximum participation."

Gartland reports overwhelming interest in the conference from the South African user community. "We are having a record attendance this year," she says.

The conference will open with an address from PeopleSoft MD, Mike Evans, who will provide an update on the company`s local operations, as well as an overview of its product roadmap and strategy. Evans will also discuss the value to customers of the JD Edwards - PeopleSoft merger.

Dave Taylor, co-chairman of Quest Africa, says the synergy between the JD Edwards and PeopleSoft product lines, and the company`s array of customer wins, continues to ensure its ongoing viability. Taylor adds: "The user conference provides the ideal forum in which to discuss local user needs into the future."

Quest Africa allows users to share information and learn from industry experts, while taking a hands-on look at the technology and getting insider tips on how to maximise their technology investment. The conference aims to be a premier networking and informational event and is designed to provide practical and relevant information through the delivery of top-class presentations.

"Because this is a user conference, the choice of topics is broad," says Taylor. "We have encouraged users to present on any topic they believe will be of interest or benefit to other PeopleSoft users, whether it takes the form of a case study, success story, or other experience of or insight into the technology."

"We are thrilled with the user response, and proud that this year`s event will comprise primarily of customer presentations. It is truly a user conference."
