UXalliance will be hosting its -annual UX Masterclass in SA this year.

The alliance says its fifth UX Masterclass will address issues faced by businesses committed to creating products that deliver a good user experience.

UXalliance, which is a collaboration of user experience experts from 24 countries, says the UX Masterclass will feature 22 experts in design, research and . User experience professionals will share recent developments and case studies. There will also be collaborative sessions, where delegates will benefit from the speakers' experience firsthand, adds UXalliance.

The event is particularly relevant to marketers, product developers, company owners, managers, user experience professionals and interaction designers, according to the alliance.

Helga Letowt-Vorbek, owner of Mantaray, the agency that represents SA in the UXalliance, says global trends have shown that understanding the end-user's experience of a product is key to the product's success.

“The experience of the end-user cannot be an afterthought in the design of a product or ; it should be the leading motivator throughout the creation process,” she says, adding that user experience professionals can help innovators understand how end-users engage with their products.

UXalliance says Letowt-Vorbek motivated for the event to take place in SA because she believes SA has unique solutions to offer the world. According to Letowt-Vorbek, by attending previous UX Masterclass events, she realised that, globally, product designers have similar challenges; however, she says SA has unique solutions.

“For example, in the online space, mobile solutions are our first port of call, whereas UX developers abroad start with Web sites, and only move to mobile once the project is completely resolved online.”

The UX Masterclass will take place at the Rosebank Hyatt Regency, in Johannesburg, on 30 March 2012. Seats cost R3 000 per delegate, with a group discount available for three or more delegates at R2 500 per seat. For registrations, click here, or contact Letowt-Vorbek on helga@mantaray.co.za.
