AQ Solutions was recently selected to supply a 10-user network for the International Climate Conference hosted by the South African Weather Bureau. The event is held annually by the World Meteorological Organisation and is attended by delegates from all around the world.
This year, it was titled The Climate Outlook Forum, and was held at Roodevallei Lodge in Pretoria, over a period of five days. "The conference was very successful," said Hannelie Doubell of the Weather Bureau.
A critical part of the network was to provide reliable Internet access for the delegates, enabling them to stay connected with their offices around the world. A video conference to the USA was also held via the network.
Since providing 10 individual modems with telephone lines would have been impossible and very costly at a conference venue, AQ decided to use their LinX server, based on the ultra reliable Linux platform, to provide file, printer and Internet services. AQ`s rental packages are completely customisable offering combinations of PCs, printers, scanners, networks and servers. The rental also offers full support, delivery and collection of equipment.
