SafeBoot announces 2006 year-end earnings results

Johannesburg, 19 Mar 2007

SecureData, a member of the JSE-listed ERP.com Group, and the southern African distributor for SafeBoot, today announced the latter's record-breaking fiscal year 2006 with a 69% increase over 2005.

With revenue totalling over $40 million, SafeBoot continued its trend of 20 consecutive quarters of revenue growth. The announcement was made at the RSA Conference 2007 at the Moscone Centre in San Francisco.

The company experienced significant worldwide growth largely due to the need for global organisations to find a scalable, proven technology that stops data leakage while offering low cost of ownership.

SafeBoot also attributes the growth to an increasing number of deals whereby SafeBoot replaced an incumbent data protection technology.

SafeBoot has over 3 000 clients in 74 countries, including more than 150 Fortune 500 companies that represent more than three million active licences.

"SafeBoot customers are careful to choose the encryption technology that is right for their environment and they go through meticulous investigation of available solutions. We are proud to have experienced a consistent increase in the number of large-scale, enterprise purchases by customers who must protect data anywhere they are in the world," commented Gerhard Watzinger, CEO of SafeBoot.

"Based on customer feedback, we were not surprised to see a significant number of deals where SafeBoot replaced an existing technology, mostly due to the limitations of scalability of those technologies," added Watzinger.

SafeBoot is one of the world's leading providers of software designed to protect mobile computing devices via powerful encryption and access control technologies. Software Magazine ranked SafeBoot as the 311th largest software and services provider in the world, In September 2006, SafeBoot was positioned in the "Leaders Quadrant" of Gartner's Mobile Data Magic Quadrant report for 2006.
