SAFIKA forms 'SAFIKA Recruiting' - IT recruitment and contracting company

SAFIKA Technologies Holdings recently acquired the business of TCG, a local recruitment and contracting company, to form 'SAFIKA Recruiting'. SAFIKA Recruiting is set to complement the group of companies that fall under SAFIKA Technologies Holdings.

SAFIKA Holdings is a broadly based South African black empowerment information technology group and comprises a number of different companies each offering IT solutions.

"The synergies with SAFIKA Technologies Holdings were clear," says owner-manager of TCG Glenda Butkow. SAFIKA Technologies Holdings has acquired a 70% stake in the company. "We have developed the ability to find and successfully recruit black South Africans for employment right across the spectrum of positions," she says. "We don`t only rely on the media and employ an indirect search methodology which we find most effective."

Grant Jacobs, director of group operations for SAFIKA Technologies Holdings says that the acquisition is in line with SAFIKA`S intention to focus more intensely on the staffing needs of their customers and for the IT industry as a whole.

" SAFIKA Recruiting focus' on recruiting previously disadvantaged individuals is a close fit with our objectives for black empowerment," he noted. Jacobs also points out that SAFIKA Recruiting entrepreneurial bent will ensure a fit with the culture of SAFIKA Technologies Holdings.

"We have seen that South Africa is following the international trend with companies contracting their IT human resource requirements with specialist companies like SAFIKA Recruiting. With SAFIKA Recruiting in the SAFIKA fold we can offer our clients the flexibility of retaining their staffing costs, and providing IT contractors with the constant change that most workers in the IT industry crave," he says. He expects that contracting will form a large part of the business from SAFIKA Recruiting.

Butkow says that SAFIKA Recruiting will be contracting out teams of workers in certain instances. "Companies are looking increasingly for a working unit of people who have the right synergies. We can put together the right team for a particular project," she adds.

Jacobs also revealed the group`s intention to acquire a training company which would complement the recruitment and contracting division.
