Sagent hits the 1 000-customer mark

Johannesburg, 10 Feb 2000

Sagent Technology, the provider of realtime e- solutions, has reached the corporate milestone of 1 000 customers. This follows the close of a record fourth quarter for Sagent in which the company signed more than 150 new customers and expanded its worldwide presence throughout Europe, Asia-Pacific and Australia, in addition to South Africa. Companies that purchased or implemented solutions from Sagent in 1999 included AT&T, SatoTravel, Boeing Employees Credit Union, Drugstore.com, Sony Online, Outpost.com, and other market and category leaders.

"These companies are choosing Sagent to provide Web-based customer relationship management (CRM) and analysis," says Susan Andre, MD of Sagent SA. "Sagent delivers an integrated view of their corporate, customer and third-party , enabling sales and marketing staff to develop Web-based marketing programmes and to serve the diverse needs of their customers." Andre says the explosive growth of e-business worldwide is fuelling an absolute need for e-business-enabled companies to perform realtime analysis for customer behaviour.

"It is critical that e-business companies track online customer activities so as to allow them to create customised, one-to-one marketing campaigns aimed at online visitors. By organising data gathered from the entire customer online experience into a single repository, Sagent helps companies identify online customer cross-sell and up-sell opportunities and better service new clients."
