Sahara announces barebone system from Asus

Johannesburg, 12 May 2003

Local Asus distributor, Sahara Computers, has announced the local availability of Asus' Pundit desktop barebone system. The Pundit offers reliable performance in a third of the space that most barebone systems occupy.

"It is an eight-litre solution which takes up far less space than conventional desktop PCs," says Atul Gupta, MD at Sahara Computers.

The Pundit supports the Pentium 4 CPU on 533MHz front side bus and DDR 333 memory. It incorporates an all-in-one design, which includes support for a PCMCIA 4-in-1 card reader (MMC, SD, SM, MS), IEEE 1394 and S/PDIF digital audio.

"In addition, it provides a multimedia experience with built-in features such as TV-out, 5.1-channel audio-out, S/PDIF digital audio and DVI-out," says Gupta. "In effect, it combines PC, TV, video recording, home entertainment, CD, MP3, VCD and DVD functions in one package.

"Fan speeds are also automatically adjusted according to system loading, ensuring a quiet computing environment," says Gupta.
