Sahara Computers has been appointed local distributor of the Samsung SyncMaster monitor range by Samsung Electronics SA. This decision builds on an existing partnership between these parties to distribute Samsung optical drives.
"Our appointment of Sahara Computers as second local distributor is in keeping with the realignment of our local distribution strategy, to more closely reflect that of our global operation," says Greg Murison, IT Business Manager for Samsung Electronics SA. "Operating via two distributors will also increase our reach in the market and ultimately our sales."
Selvin Kristnen, Director: Corporate Division of Sahara Computers, comments on the newly signed agreement, saying that it will enable Sahara to expand its current offering. "We are now in a position to offer our clients a branded monitor that is well respected in the market. This increases our sales options and clearly enhances our product portfolio."
Kristnen adds that Sahara will target both the corporate sector as well as the dealer channel. "There is a great demand for Samsung monitors in the local arena, especially within the corporate sector where Sahara has a strong presence. However, we also intend to grow Samsung's market share by means of the Sahara Group's substantial penetration of the Small-to-Medium Enterprise market. "
Murison says its existing relationship with Sahara meant that they were familiar with the company and its depth. "There are a host of synergies between these two companies that we would like to explore. However for now we look forward to the expansion of Samsung business locally and hold strong expectations of our partnership with Sahara."
