Sahara Computers has joined forces with global consulting and solutions company Cyret Technologies, to establish Cyret Technologies SA.
Cyret specialises in value-added service delivery around JD Edwards and Oracle-based implementation solutions.
The company will be based in Midrand, Johannesburg and will support a national distribution network comprising 11 key points of presence.
In terms of this agreement, the joint shareholding company will leverage off the local market expertise, infrastructure and presence of the Sahara Group, incorporating its associated companies, Sahara said.
Cyret will deliver the full-scale implementation of the latest version of the Oracle JDE product, Enterprise One 8.12, to the local and surrounding markets.
The company will be run by management from both organisations. Rajan Deshpande will head up the new venture as CEO.
"I am very excited about this association. This strategic venture considerably expands our resources and significantly increases our bandwidth, thus improving our ability to grow the company's client base into a new territory of Africa," said Deshpande.
Atul Gupta, chairman and MD of Sahara, added: "Our intention will be to serve as a premier services and solutions partner on this platform for the JDE customer base. We also intend using the established infrastructure in-house for the benefit our company."
