Sahara Computers has launched a channel partner programme (CPP) that provides dealers throughout SA with a host of benefits. Successful dealers will be fully kitted out as regional Sahara partners and leverage off the many advantages associated with the programme.
These applicants can trade as authorised Sahara channel partners and become eligible for additional benefits such as training and support on all Sahara products, joint marketing ventures and branding, including all merchandising material provided in the Sahara CPP marketing kit, as well as authorisation to support Sahara products in the area. The CPP will also allow partners to enjoy pricing and warranty advantages to ensure they maintain an efficient channel business.
Atul Gupta, MD of Sahara Computers, says the programme is aimed at uplifting the existing and potential resellers in the channel to achieve their full potential. In this way they can provide a higher level of support to consumers and extend the Sahara brand and offering into new and emerging markets.
"The Sahara brand has certainly shown strong growth in many parts of SA. We believe this programme will provide potential partners with the necessary infrastructure to further entrench the benefits of our product," says Gupta. "The advantages of the programme are measurable and significant, and basically ensure that the partner receives the necessary support in order to service their client base. Businesses, especially in remote areas, do not have to endure the pressure of constantly having to drive through to the major city centres in order to keep operations running. The channel partner programme is a structured plan to create business opportunity through an organised network that extends throughout the country in order to meet individual demands."
As part of the programme, Sahara will provide on-site training to partners, which translates to a major cost saving for those who embark on the initiative. In addition, channel partners can leverage off the advantages of stock availability and the critical mass behind Sahara's position in the market.
"There are challenges, of course," says Gupta. "Change is often resisted at first and we want to make it clear that we will not prevent traditional dealers from buying from our regional offices. We would like to encourage as many partners as possible, although selection is based on a thorough feasibility study and will be extended to those dealers who can add value to the initiative."
Sahara is strongly committed to the channel and believes this initiative will empower many resellers to realise their full potential and thereby assist in the growth of the South African ICT market. For more information, e-mail cpp@sahara.co.za or contact Jacques Roux on 084 678-7842.
