Products announced at the launch and immediately available through Sahara's countrywide reseller network, include the Inspire speaker range - Creative's first 7.1 PC speaker systems, the Creative DC-CAM 3000Z digital camera and the Sound Blaster Audigy family of sound cards with eight-channel 108dB SNR clarity, built-in DTS Extended Surround decoding and 7.1 surround sound.
Also on display and available in Q4 this year are Creative's MP3 players: the NOMAD Jukebox Zen NX, NOMAD Muvo NX, Creative NOMAD MuVo^2, NOMAD MuVo^2 X-Trainer, Creative Digital MP3 Player LX 200, Creative MuVo as well as the Creative I-Trigue speaker series.
"With the launch of these new products in SA, Creative announces its technological leadership in the digital entertainment arena," says Francis Hau, marketing manager at Creative.
"The company is moving more of its product offerings outside the PC box allowing it to reach an even broader base of potential customers," he says.
Atul Gupta, MD of Sahara, says: "Creative is a worldwide leader in digital entertainment products for PC users and, locally, with our aggressive pricing strategy, the demand for our products has grown significantly.
"Sahara is well situated in the South African market as one of the fastest growing local distribution companies and continues to offer fast access to Creative stock and support through its countrywide offices and warehousing."
Sahara handles all the procurement, sales and support of the Creative products, dealing directly with Creative headquarters in Singapore.
"The launch of these new lifestyle and audio products allows us to aim at a different segment of the market. With our Nomad MP3 players for example, we are launching five different models, each with its own look and feel, and storage capacity. The idea is to suit the requirements and budgets of people who like music, who like to be on the move and who want to experience something portable," says Gupta.
