The SAIF (Southern African ISDN Forum) consisting of vendors, users and the Service provider (Telkom) is rapidly gaining interest in the ISDN industry. The Forum was formed in July 1995 to help Southern Africans understand and utilise the potential of ISDN. The forum membership boasts 113 members.
The Forum serves as an interface between industry and the supplier and therefore is the ideal mechanism to address potential problems and grievances proactively. SAIF is recognised by Telkom as the official voice of the ISDN industry. Vendors who are members of SAIF is seen as value added resellers of Telkom and meet on a regular basis with the ISDN management of Telkom. Membership of SAIF is open to any interested organisation or individual.
Says Marius Coetzee, Telkom Marketing Manager: "The challenge for us all, business and the user, is to grab the opportunities ISDN has to offer."
SAIF members recently elected the new Executive Committee of SAIF at a Special Meeting. The newly elected members represent the following companies: Telkom, Datatec, PQ Networks, Lowther Technologies, Transtel, DNS, Philips, Protea, Spescom, Siemens and Genbel.
