Salesforce.com introduces PM app

Enterprise Apps Today reports.

Do.com, a simple collaboration service that allows users to launch projects, assign tasks and invite others to join and collaborate, is now in public beta. The service is integrated with Gmail and Google Apps, but can be used with any e-mail address or client.

According to Fierce Mobile IT, Salesforce.com said it will stop investing in Manymoon, one of the most popular apps on Google's Apps Marketplace, and offer customers ways to migrate to Do.

Do is organised around lists of tasks, and gives users ways to collaborate on tasks with others. Users can change Do's interface to suit their preferred method of organisation.

While Do shares some broad themes with Salesforce.com's Chatter social collaboration software, there are some key differences, PCWorld notes.

It works best with smaller groups of up to perhaps a dozen people, while Chatter is geared for interactions with thousands.

Salesforce.com is hoping to skim off business from long-time project management vendors such as Basecamp.
