SalesLogix Corporation, a leading provider of contact management and electronic customer relationship management software, has received shareholder approval to change the company's name to Interact Commerce Corporation.
With effect from 26 April 2000, the company's shares will be traded under a new stock symbol (NASDAQ: IACT). The change is designed to better reflect the company's drive for a leading role in the sales operations of firms in the emerging business-to-business e-commerce market.
"The Internet has created a new environment of purchasing and comparison shopping that further establishes that long-term, responsive relationships with customers are much more important than the single sale of a product or service," says Pat Sullivan, president and CEO of SalesLogix.
"To accomplish this in today's world of commerce, companies must manage not only the relationships with existing and potential customers, but also the myriad internal and external communities of partners involved in the process. Our new name reflects a focus on spurring the interactions among sellers, customers, and partners that will enable our customers to grow quickly in this new economy."
