Samatel expands call centres
The Gulf's newest mobile operator, Samatel, has announced further details of its expansion plans shortly after opening last weekend, reports Arabian Business.
It will also add call centres to Mabela and Bid Bid to complement the 165 employees at its Ghala location.
“Another call centre with staff strength of 500 employees will be opened in Mabela within three to four months. Another centre will be opened in Bid Bid, which will have a capacity of 300 to 400 call agents and will be operational within a year,” CEO Wael Tahir told a newspaper.
UK recruiter seeks customer support team
UK recruitment firm Temp-Team has been boosted by a major contract, which will see it begin the search to recruit 400 home workers, says nebusiness.co.uk.
The company, with seven offices across Tyneside, Durham, Teesside and Yorkshire, has been enlisted by virtual call centre provider Arise Virtual Solutions to fill remote customer service posts in the run-up to Christmas.
Using a self-employment model, Arise workers are set up with their own limited company, which handles customer support contracts with large retail clients such as Shop Direct.
NIIE Energy upgrades call centre tech
NIE Energy in Ireland has employed 30 staff in the Omagh centre, where a new telephony system has been installed to improve customer services, reveals eGov Monitor.
Speaking to staff and company officials at the new centre, energy minister Arlene Foster said: “I welcome this move by NIE Energy, which shows a commitment to the workforce in Omagh and the surrounding area.”
As well as relocating to new premises, the company has invested heavily to upgrade its existing telephony infrastructure including its three contact centres in Omagh, Ballymena and Belfast.
