Samsung has introduced the Galaxy Note 10.1, 2014 Edition, which it says is an "approach to balancing productivity, content creation and consumption" in one tablet.
The tablet is 7.9mm thick and described by Samsung as the "ultimate productivity" device. Its resolution has also been improved, with a high-res (WQXGA Super clear LCD 2560x1600), 10-inch display.
Other features include a 1.9GHz Octa core processor in the 3G/WiFi only version, as well as 3GB RAM.
The screen provides four times the pixel density of the original Note 10.1. Its magazine style UX allows users to organise their favourite resources in a simple dashboard that is easy to access.
It also offers 'Multi Window' that allows users to run separate instances of the same application, and the enhanced S-Pen allows them to drag and drop content from one window to another.
When using the 'Pen Window' users can draw a window in a size of their choice on the screen, and immediately access other applications in that window.
Samsung says the interface is more intuitive and easier to use than previous versions. "Users will have access to both note files and notepads, with the ability to use the S-Pen to take handwritten notes."
The 2014 Edition offers three connectivity options: WiFi only, WiFi and 3G, WiFi and LTE, and is available in 16, 32 or 64GB and Micro SD. It will be available globally from end September.
