Samsung mono-laser MFP from Tarsus offers enhanced versatility

Johannesburg, 23 Dec 2009

Tarsus Technologies has announced the local availability of the Samsung SCX-4600 range of monochrome multifunction laser printers - perfect for high information flow and research-work environments.

Samsung product manager at Tarsus, Levina de Matos, says the new range is especially useful for users handling high volumes of web-based information, allowing them to print the contents of their screen as they see it and in doing so, process information more effectively.

“Offering speeds of up to 22ppm, with a first page out time of less than 10 seconds, this printer helps users pull together overlapping web information in separate windows and print them all at once” de Matos says.

“Together with the Samsung Anyweb Print software, the user can select, drag and drop content from different web pages without any resizing or other editing, allowing them to gather information more efficiently” she adds.

“Versatile copying functions furthermore allow users to process information from a variety of other external origins.

“These include a unique 'ID card copy' mode, which allows both sides of an ID card to be copied and printed without multiple sheet feeding; or clone copying which allows the user to print multiple versions of an image or design onto a single A4 page.

“Yet another option, namely 'poster copying' enlarges an image so that it can be stacked in a 3 x 3 fashion and then prints these 9 perfectly aligned sheets, so they can be easily pasted together to form a much larger image,” she says.

“Apart from copying, the MFP's scanning capability is efficient, boasting an optical resolution of up to 1,200dpi x 1,200dpi and an enhanced resolution of up to 4,800dpi x 4,800dpi”.

“As expected, the SCX-4263F and SCX-426FN offer fax-to-PC capability,” de Matos notes, “so faxed data is sent right to your PC across the local connection or the office network.

“The same is true for sending faxes - a convenient PC application provided as part of the package converts document files to image files, so that these can be sent as faxes, saving on time and paper costs.

de Matos says that the 4600 range's streamlined design, along with its uncluttered control panel provides user-friendly GUI screens that make print, copy, scan and fax operations easy to manage.

“Everything from job status, to toner level, paper jam and paper empty alerts are covered on the control panel.”

“This streamlined series of mono laser printers will be well received and appreciated in any professional business where immense quantities of information are central to operations,” she concludes.
