Samsung Electronics SA has partnered with Econz Wireless in a deal the companies believe will improve and advance mobile workforce management and streamline businesses to become more efficient, productive and profitable.

The electronics giant says its software development kit and other tools are made accessible through the Samsung Enterprise Alliance Programme (SEAP) and are aimed at providing quality of service for collaboration and growth.

As an SEAP Partner, Econz Wireless, a provider of mobile time and attendance, dispatching and GPS applications, offers innovative applications for organisations to better manage their mobile workforces, says Samsung.

With the range of Econz mobile enterprise applications, field workers are able to log time, attendance, jobs, tasks, sub-tasks, cost codes, breaks and work order information from their Samsung mobile devices, the companies say.

Managers are now able to view locations of employees throughout the day using Google Maps and real-time job information from Econz's Web-based software. In addition, GPS tracking information such as bread crumb trails, speed triggers, kilometres, idle time and GPS smart fence technology enables accurate description of employees' movements.

"Samsung understands that there is a shift in the business environment and believes in the power of partnerships to provide organisations with mobile apps that deliver the operational and reporting requirements to be more agile and responsive," says Paulo Ferreira, head of enterprise mobility at Samsung Electronics SA.

"Enterprise mobility applications, which offer visibility into field employees' actual activities and needs, enable more effective communication and faster decision-making, thus improving operational efficiencies."

Econz Wireless claims its mobile applications integrate into more than 100 accounting and packages allowing a direct connect of data.

"We are excited about our acceptance into the Samsung Enterprise Alliance Programme in South Africa," says Harry Lane, global VP of sales at Econz Wireless.

"Econz Wireless can now collaborate with Samsung and build better customised solutions for business-to-business customers in reference to their mobile business needs, across multiple verticals, including construction, distribution, healthcare, utilities, telecommunications, government and field service."

Samsung says the collaboration with Econz will assist various sectors of the economy to better manage their mobile workforces.

"Samsung is committed to creating an ecosystem that supports in developing successful relationships and providing the best customer experience for enterprises," concludes Ferreira.
