Samsung`s latest LCDs provide vivid, crisp display

Johannesburg, 03 Jul 2003

Tarsus Technologies has introduced Samsung`s latest LCD monitors, the SyncMaster 153V/173V to the South African market. These monitors, available in black, silver and ivory, are the ideal display device for all business and professional applications.

LCD monitors have been available for some time, but have always suffered the negative image of being too costly and not quite as popular as traditional CRT systems. "While this may be true to a degree for the larger 21-inch monitors, it certainly does not apply to 15- and 17-inch systems," says Mark Campbell, GM of Tarsus Technologies.

"Samsung`s SyncMaster flat LCD screens deliver clear, crisp images with a resolution of 1024x768 on the 15-inch models and 1280x1024 on the 17-inch models. The SyncMaster range offers sharp, bright images without sacrificing the clarity," adds Campbell. "Supporting 16.2 million colours, these systems provide 15- and 17-inch viewable areas with none of the display `lost` as is the case with most CRT monitors."

Today`s LCD screens are also far more environmentally friendly. Awarded the TCO`03 Certification, the Samsung SyncMaster 153V and 173V LCD monitors emit less heat, consume less power and with the Digital Power Management System (DPMS) applied, utilise under 2W in standby mode.

The pivot function on the 153v is another unique feature allowing users to view entire A4 pages, whether in portrait or landscape format, without having to scroll down. With 140 and 120 degree viewing angles, presentations to small groups can easily be handled with everyone able to see everything on the screen.

With their slim and simple design, Samsung`s SyncMaster 153V/173V monitors provide desktop space at a premium. The cable-concealed design hides the monitor`s cables and a built in power adaptor allows users the freedom to utilise space previously taken up by clumsy cables and power cords.

"Small form factor PCs are becoming more popular, as are LCD monitors, Samsung`s latest offering will allow users to recover lost desk space without sacrificing quality or paying a premium," concludes Campbell.
