Sanofi-Synth'elabo renews with Artec

Johannesburg, 13 Nov 2002

Artec Computer Systems today announced that leading French pharmaceutical company, Sanofi-Synth'elabo, has renewed its outsourcing contract with Artec in SA.

This contract involves Artec in project planning, implementation and infrastructure support for the local operation, which has a nationwide presence, with offices in Gauteng, Durban, Cape Town, Port Elizabeth and Bloemfontein.

"SA is one of only a few locations worldwide within the Sanofi-Synth'elabo organisation where external staff are employed," commented Andrew Tucker, Founder and CEO of Artec Computer Systems. "We are seen as critical to the success of their operation, and to that extent, our people are in France with Sanofi-Synth'elabo providing input, from an IT perspective, into the planning of their global strategy. Specifically, the infrastructure and systems that are required for their future as well as those currently utilised by them worldwide are all part of that process."

"We have had a very successful relationship with Artec over the past three years," added Keith McKay of Sanofi-Synth'elabo South Africa. "It was a straightforward and logical decision to extend our activities together for a further period of time."
