SAOUG Annual Conference

Sun City, 21 to 23 October 2012.

Johannesburg, 29 Jun 2012

With the support of our sponsors, exhibitors and delegates in 2011, we had a very successful event in Sun City and delivered a world-class conference. We have seen a quality and attendance improvement on the previous year by embracing the feedback we received from delegates, sponsors and exhibitors and incorporating this into our event planning.

Our promise to the user community is that 2012 will be no exception. The annual conference is the highlight on the South African Oracle User Group (SAOUG) events calendar and the place to be if you want to learn about the latest technology and trends, best practices from industry experts and network with your peers. The event will be hosted at Sun City, from 21 to 23 October 2012.

This year's conference theme, “Connect, Communicate, Collaborate”, will be used to communicate and share information and new ideas through merging technologies, which help to improve productivity.

Oracle partners, vendors and users will gain new insights into their current investments by enhancing productivity to increase the value of an organisation's IT investments. The conference theme this year will not only provide a platform for communication, but will also facilitate the sharing of ideas between users.

Users expect to be able to reach out to other people and find information, to be able to learn and grow by asking questions and participating in discussions. This year we would like to encourage customers and users to share information by showcasing their success stories on how Oracle technology benefits their organisations.

The SAOUG board has been hard at work preparing an exciting and stimulating programme, with many opportunities for debate and discussion, such as keynote addresses, different track sessions and Special Interest Group meetings. The conference aims to help organisations achieve greater results from their current Oracle technology investments and to help them plan strategically to stay ahead of their competitors.

We have again placed major focus on including the SAOUG's executive leaders and key decision-makers in the IT industry in a leadership event. The executives attending will have direct access to the latest Oracle Open World 2012 feedback.

With this in mind, we have designed the 2012 tracks agenda around the following categories:

* Applications
* Databases
* Industries
* Middleware
* Oracle Develop
* Server and storage Systems
* Cross-stream

We have also broadened our user interaction forums to retain and include new events, such as:

* SAOUG Women in IT lunch
* Roundtable/SIG meetings
* SAOUG members-only track to meet the SAOUG board members
* Oracle: Meet the Experts Sessions for selected customers and partners
* SAOUG 2012 Leadership Circle Dinner (Monday, 22 October: Invitation ONLY)

SAOUG received recognition for the support and efforts of the IOUC and EOUC over the past year and is seen as one of the three largest user groups in EMEA and one of the few self-sustaining user group communities globally. This can be directly attributed to the great attendance, gracious sponsorships and many exhibitor contributions we receive annually. SAOUG can neither succeed nor grow without its financial supporters. The SAOUG board would like to acknowledge this fact and once again thank you all for the many years of support we have received from you. We hope that you will once again support SAOUG in our 2012 conference bid.

A special message from the SAOUG leadership:

SAOUG brings together leaders and experts from all Oracle product users to discuss ideas and issues that are common to Oracle users in South Africa. This is a special community of people who volunteer time and energy to help our members learn more about Oracle products and services and to maximise the return on their investments in Oracle. We encourage all Oracle customers and partners to get involved and become members of our user group. Stay connected and network with other professionals using Oracle products. Share your ideas and best practices and reach out to mentor new users.

Don't miss out on our 20% Early Bird Registration Discount, ending 12 July 2012.

When it comes to the total quality of a marketing interaction, nothing holds a candle to exhibitions. Exhibitions have a number of advantages over other media, therefore, don't miss out on booking your exhibition space at the 2012 conference, limited space available.
