SAP has contracted ERP business software and technology solutions supplier and implementer 4most to be its first fully accredited Business One training and education delivery partner in South Africa.
Eugene Olivier, 4most managing director, said the contract ensures that companies using the software in South Africa will now have an additional permanent facility through which they can enhance the skills of their system supervisors, management and employees who regularly use the SAP Business One software solution.
“We will draw trainees from current users and companies that want to evaluate and understand the product, individuals in advisory positions such as auditors and accountants, as well as independent consultants and software assessors. We also expect to train individuals who see career opportunities as implementers of SAP Business One solutions and others who wish to enhance their chances of promotion within their respective companies.”
SAP Africa Education Director, Johann Pretorius, said that the ongoing development of a wider pool of skilled operators among the user-base in Africa was an important objective. “We also need to continuously develop highly skilled implementers within our growing reseller base. The appointment of 4most as the first Business One certified and accredited training centre is important in driving the required skill set for the African SAP Business One community.”
Olivier added that achieving formal SAP Business One training accreditation was highly sought after and required people with impeccable credentials and relevant experience. “We have conducted training internally over the past five years and have a fundamental understanding of what it takes to present material, content and training that meets the SAP standards.”
The company has training centres in Johannesburg, Cape Town and Gaberone. According to 4most business development director Cornel Schoeman a typical implementation course will involve nine days of training spread over a three-week period.
“The course consists of three specific modules - logistics, accounting and implementation/support. Initially, these courses will be conducted every second month, but we expect this frequency to increase as a result of our partnership with SAP.”
Schoeman added that an economic downturn is not all doom and gloom: “We feel that many companies will view the current economy as an opportunity to optimise their software and skills of their system users in order to achieve greater operational efficiency.”
The first formal SAP Business One training courses by 4most are expected to be conducted during September 2009.
