IDS Scheer, creator of the ARIS Toolset for process improvement and business engineering, has announced a partnership with SAP AG to develop methods and tools for creating mySAP.com collaborative business scenarios (C-Business Scenarios).
C-Business Scenarios let customers collaborate with other companies across company boundaries using an integrated process and data basis, to uncover potential areas for improvement. The documentation of the business content of the C-Business Scenarios is currently being carried out using the new E-business Suite, part of the ARIS business process software suite.
SAP and IDS Scheer are jointly developing a method for representing business contents of mySAP.com C-Business Scenarios. This method, which also includes graphical visualisation, will be fully supported by the ARIS Toolset. The companies plan to use ARIS Web Link to transfer the C-Business Scenarios created by SAP into the mySAP.com marketplace to make them available to a wider audience.
The C-Business Scenarios and the R/3 Reference Model in ARIS Toolset will enable companies to adapt standard scenarios to their own requirements and define the necessary business processes in an integrated format, says Barend Fair, ARIS product manager at local ARIS distributor CCH Enterprise Solutions. "This will accelerate the creation of e-business solutions based on mySAP.com."
mySAP.com is SAP`s solution for the optimal integration of all relevant business processes via the Internet. C-Business Scenarios such as vehicle sales and distribution, chemical and pharmaceutical marketplace, and high-tech ERM demonstrate the new opportunities offered by mySAP.com for organisational design of inter-enterprise business processes. The new E-Business Suite of ARIS Toolset efficiently supports the development of e-business models and e-business processes. With more than 16 500 installations, ARIS Toolset is the world leader for business process engineering software.
"By providing mySAP.com C-Business Scenarios in ARIS Toolset, ARIS enables companies to create individualised e-business concepts based on predefined mySAP.com solutions in a tool-supported format," says Fair.
IDS Scheer is to market the C-Business Scenarios as an enhancement of the R/3 reference models available in ARIS.
