SAP has called on its partners to help it achieve high double-digit growth in the Europe, Middle-East and Africa (EMEA) region and become the number two database company in the world by 2015.

Chano Fernandez, senior VP and head of innovation sales at SAP EMEA, says SAP's vision is to be the fastest growing database company in the world, and it aims to grow three times faster than the market.

SAP has placed a lot of emphasis on High-Performance Analytic Appliance (HANA), its in-memory database and platform product that is key to the company's future , during its database and technology summit currently taking place in Barcelona, Spain. The company says the platform provides libraries for "predictive planning, text processing, spatial, and business analytics".

Fernandez emphasised he is not making financial projections, but says the company is aggressively pursuing disruptive growth. He says the company's mission is to have "no product left behind", meaning it will push its portfolio in its entirety leading up to 2015. He encouraged partners to take a look at SAP's portfolio, saying it is "a golden jewel" for business growth.

Steven Birdsall, SAP COO and senior VP of global ecosystems and channels, encouraged partners to take advantage of the SAP partner edge to grow their own businesses. "We know we are not perfect and we improve on things every day. There is plenty of opportunity for you to engage with us and tell us what you want us to do differently."

He says the company aims to find a means to grow, innovate and interconnect to achieve the vision of fostering a unique "to enable, embed and distribute innovation".

"If you think about innovation, you need to think of the different business models out there and how you engage with SAP. [The business models] have completely evolved where you can literally build a business on SAP overnight. The [HANA] portfolio is great to take the technology, build your products on it and go to market together with SAP."
