SAP AG announced that its annual European technical education conference, SAP TechEd '01, began in Vienna, Austria, on 27 November with numerous hands-on lectures, presentations and panel sessions where attendees will gain a more intimate understanding of mySAP Technology.
Introduced earlier this month at SAP TechEd '01 in Los Angeles, this open, standards-based Web infrastructure will drive collaborative business in a heterogeneous IT world. At the Vienna event, SAP experts will discuss the three elements driving collaborative business, Web Application Server, exchange infrastructure and portal infrastructure, with attendees, sharing strategies on how business collaboration within and among varied and diverse corporations can be achieved.
Keynote speakers Karl-Heinz Hess, member of the extended management board of SAP AG, Klaus Kreplin, executive vice president of SAP Portals, and Michael Schuster, vice president of technology development of SAP Markets, together will share the stage to explain the company's vision for e-business technology and provide more information on mySAP Technology, an open, standards-based Web architecture.
mySAP Technology enables businesses to take advantage of an infrastructure that allows for easy integration, facilitating unprecedented technical interoperability and the capability to tear down the technical constraints that challenge collaborative business.
It powers the mySAP.com e-business platform with one common infrastructure that enables open integration with any application and Web service from any vendor in any technology environment. mySAP Technology enables companies to leverage current and future investments without disrupting critical daily business operations, providing flexibility and low cost of ownership now and in the future.
In-depth, on-site education available
Presentations and hands-on lectures on subsequent days of the event will focus on all areas of open e-business integration including Web Services development, security, solution lifecycle management, infrastructure and platforms, as well as e-business solutions. Presentations will provide attendees with an overview and understanding of these key technologies and the way they work together for collaborative business success. Hands-on lectures will provide a thorough understanding of the software through real-life experience with mySAP Technology.
Under the guidance of SAP software developers, attendees actively participate and complete tasks such as learning to manage the entire solution lifecycle in which they can become familiar with implementation options, administration of systems, and performance and scalability opportunities, including all mandatory aspects from development to deployment and operations. In addition, participants at TechEd Vienna are able to view upcoming and future technologies, engage SAP and industry experts one-on-one, and network with peers in a forum that features more than 300 educational sessions and dozens of partner exhibits.
