SAP offers SOA certification

SAP has announced an enterprise service-oriented architecture (SOA) curriculum that builds the skills of the next-generation IT workforce, according to CNN Money.

The announcement was made at SAP TechEd `07, held in Munich, Germany, last week, where registrants could become certified at the associate level.

SAP TechEd represents one of the first venues to offer certification to enterprise architects as well as professional level certification for other key roles.

Nuxeo unveils ECM platform

Nuxeo has unveiled version 5.1 of its open source enterprise content management (ECM) platform, which it says is suited for large-scale enterprises investing in SOA, according to Linux World.

ECM enables organisations to globally manage their documents and business processes. Nuxeo says the new version of its ECM platform focuses on SOA, as well scalability and support, to meet the needs of large-scale enterprise organisations.

Specifically, it now offers "enterprise-grade" functional and technical support, certified software patches and updates, and management tools that are available during every stage of the application life cycle.

SAP serves SOA

SAP has signalled its commitment to open solutions in the SOA space, according to ADT Mag.

It has donated a memory analyser tool to the Eclipse.com development community that is currently part of SAP`s open NetWeaver SOA platform.

The tool helps analyse object retention patterns when running enterprise applications. It works with a graphical display in Eclipse to optimise memory use.
