SAP takes HANA to SMEs
CBR writes.
The company is pushing HANA at this market through two products - HANA for SAP Business One and HANA Edge.
The first of these will be, as the name suggests, targeted at companies already using Business One and is a small-scale HANA-based application. It includes Crystal Reports, the company's reporting tool that is aimed at smaller businesses.
SAP said HANA for SMEs will be supplied to channel partners from the end of this month, and will be available to customers later this year, V3.co.uk notes.
“The SMB sector is an important sector for us. We no longer want these customers to avert their innovation journey,” says SAP global ecosystems and channels president, Eric Duffaut.
“HANA will empower them with real-time analytics and productivity enhancements. They will be able to bring unstructured data together from any source and do real-time computing.”
HANA places data to be processed in RAM instead of moving it on and off of traditional disk systems, providing a performance boost, InfoWorld says.
It can handle both analytic and transactional workloads, and is sold in appliance form by a number of vendors.
