The management of Saratoga Software, Cape Town's leading niche software development company, announced the acquisition of Digital Matter. Anthony Robinson, CEO of Saratoga Software, outlined the rationale for the deal.
One of our key growth strategies has been directed at finding the right acquisition. We believe that the market is now much better for realistic and exciting acquisitions. We have been looking for some time and we are very pleased to conclude our deal with Digital Matter.
Robinson added: “We have been looking for a company that is similar to ours in culture, has strong management and good developers, that is reasonably priced, and gives us access to a great customer base. We have also been looking for a product company that has massive upside potential. Digital Matter is both a product and a solutions company, specialising in the mobility area. Digital Matter has two core products - InspectionOne, which is a mobile inspection solution for any manufacturing or production facility. Their second product is called Asset Auditor and is a solution for the management of fixed assets.”
Jeremy Williams, managing director of Digital Matter, and his team have built up a great track record and reputation over the last three years in the Gauteng market. They have done work at Sasol, Standard Bank, SARS, FNB, Legal Aid Board, ICD, Eskom, Nestle. They have also been involved in providing innovative custom solutions - like the Mowaly mobile wallet with Beyond Payments, a franchise inspection service for Debonairs, and a mobile field service solution for GijimaAST.
