Johannesburg, 18 Jul 2006

SAS Institute has announced that the 2007 SAS Forum International will be held in Stockholm, Sweden. SAS Forum (SFI) offers visitors the opportunity to gain valuable insights into the current challenges and progressive solutions in and around the business intelligence industry.

Says Bill Hoggarth, Managing Director of SAS South Africa: "As a leader in your industry, you've got to know what technology is breaking, you need to know how it can assist you in making up to the minute influential business decisions and ensure that you stay ahead of your competitors. It is with this that we encourage both partners and customers to attend SFI and gain further insight into the world of information intelligence."

At SAS Forum International 2006, attending delegates:
* Drew inspiration and learned from other forward-thinking business leaders;
* Chose from more than 140 customer presentations;
* Tailored their agenda to their own business interests with more than nine different topical streams each day; and
* Discussed and disseminated information with technology experts and their peers to help solve their own current challenges.

SAS Forum International is the most senior, most highly attended event in the European professional's calendar, and the 2006 event held in Geneva saw 12 South African speakers take the stage, local partner Unicus clinch the global Silver Partner of the year award and our own government agency SITA walk away with an Industry Excellence award.

Stockholm is the capital of Sweden, located on the south east coast and it is the largest city in Sweden, with a population of 774 000 but includes a broader area, with the Stockholm urban area population reaching 1.2 million, and the Metropolitan Stockholm area 1.7 million. As the capital, Stockholm is the site of the government and the parliament of Sweden. It is also the residence of the head of state, King Carl XVI Gustaf.

"SFI 2006 was a huge success for us and we have received tremendous feedback from our customers both locally and abroad, we are looking forward to these same customers joining us in 2007 and ensuring that we take along with us new customers and partners as well," ends Hoggarth.
