SAS Institute, the world leader in business intelligence solutions, will host its annual Global Forum in San Antonio, Texas from 16 to 19 March 2008.
The forum is aimed at technical SAS users, and is looked upon as the premier event for SAS professionals worldwide, as it boasts unequalled opportunities to meet more than 3 000 SAS professionals and staff from across the globe.
The business intelligence giant will offer four days of training, demonstrations and hands-on workshops in this year's forum. More than 300 papers and presentations will be delivered at the forum, divided between two main streams, namely technology solutions and industry solutions.
The conference will focus on SAS software solutions for general and specific industries and will provide new ideas and perspectives from industry experts.
"This event proved to be a great success when it was held last year in Orlando, Florida. This was the first Global Forum since the technical event was split off from what was previously known as SAS Forum International, and has been met with a very positive response from industry and customers alike," says Riad Gydien, Country Manager, SAS South Africa.
This year's event will include a keynote by Robin L Smith, PhD, best-selling author of "Deleting Stress from Your Life - Downloading Personal Power" as well as presentations by Doctor Paul D Allison, a Professor of Sociology at the University of Pennsylvania and Arthur L Carpenter, a SAS certified Advanced Programmer and teacher. Entertainment will be provided by "The Passing Zone", a pair of entertainers who have set five Guinness world records with their spectacular juggling acts.
In light of the recent trend towards business becoming more environmentally friendly, the 2008 Global Forum will be a "green" event. In conjunction with SAS Global Users executive board, SAS is committed to the preservation of natural resources. By using initiatives such as recycled materials, reduced paper usage and environmentally-friendly packaging, the Global Forum 2008 will have minimum environmental impact.
"At SAS we believe that knowledge is a vital business tool, and the SAS Global Forum is our way of bringing together professionals and industry thought leaders from around the world, to facilitate the sharing of ideas and information. We expect this year's event to once again be a resounding success," Gydien concludes.
