Gartner describes vendors in the Leaders quadrant as “reasonably strong in breadth and depth of business intelligence (BI) platform capabilities, and delivering enterprise wide implementations supporting a broad BI strategy. Leaders articulate a business proposition that resonates with buyers, supported by the viability and operational capability to deliver globally.”

“SAS's complete business analytics portfolio arms customers with powerful forecasting, predictive modelling, optimisation, as well as data integration and reporting,” says Goran Dragosavac, National Product Manager Analytical Intelligence at SAS Institute South Africa. “We believe the Gartner report validates what our customers already recognise and employ for competitive advantage.”

SAS's customer base, which ranges from small businesses to global corporations, includes more customers that depend on predictive analytics and data mining than any other BI vendor.

“SAS customers recognise that knowing what happened in their businesses is good, but knowing what will happen is invaluable because they can manage proactively,” Davis says.

An integral part of its proven business analytics, SAS's broad set of horizontal and industry-specific business solutions provide insights for quick action. Powered by core technology such as SAS Enterprise BI Server, SAS helps organisations answer complex questions, especially in a challenging economy. Only SAS offers this breadth of technologies and solutions.

Horizontal solutions include SAS Customer Intelligence, SAS for Enterprise Risk Management and SAS Performance Management. Industry-specific solutions include SAS Fraud Management, SAS Patient Safety and SAS Integrated Merchandise Planning.
