SAS Institute, the global leader in business analytics software and services, is pleased to announce the appointment of Millicent Sibeko as the new HR Manager of its South African office.
Sibeko is no stranger to SAS, and worked with the company for four years prior to pursuing additional growth prospects at Cadbury, where she spent two years before returning to the organisation.
“Coming back to SAS has been a wonderful opportunity for me as it feels like I have come home,” says Sibeko. “I really missed the empowering, inclusive and flexible culture of SAS, so when I was asked if I would consider coming back to the company I didn't hesitate.”
Sibeko holds a postgraduate qualification in human resources obtained during her early years in HR. She served tenures at Standard Bank's retail division and Mintek, which was, according to her: “One of the memorable environments I've worked at, this environment contributed to my early foundation years as an HR Practitioner.”
During her working career, Sibeko also managed to attain her MAP from Wits. She believes that constant growth and investment into your own skills provides you with a platform to better deliver on what is required from you in the workplace. She has a passion for empowering people through upliftment, skills development, performance and talent management, coaching and mentorship - a passion she brings back with her to SAS.
“Working with SAS makes my job that much more enjoyable, the company has always been based on a performance driven culture that offers flexibility in how one manages their time and work life, without being micro-managed, and a host of additional employee benefits that incline towards work-life balance. At SAS, I feel I can add value and my contribution is important, and supported, and it is a place where you can really unlock your own strengths and capabilities,” she ends.
