SA`s low cost structure is helping to generate e-services super-profits

South Africans, thanks to the country`s relatively low cost structure, are uniquely placed to provide global e-services.

Addressing the SA Institute of Computer Scientists and Information Technologists annual research conference in Cape Town yesterday (Wednesday), Doug Franke, partner in charge of the e-business GOLD team at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), said that several South African companies were currently using their low-cost structures to clients and to earn "super-profits".

Franke spelled out the many crucial factors that had to be considered by businesses using the for their operations.

"Many chief executive officers forget that any business needs to come to terms with tax, legal, and other issues that, if ignored, could quickly bring a business to its knees," Franke said.
