SAS named a top family-friendly company

For the seventh time SAS, the leader in business intelligence and analytics, has been included in Carolina Parent magazine's Family-Friendly 40 Companies. The list identifies companies in the state that offer comprehensive family-friendly benefits packages.

SAS's recognition of employee value drives the company to offer such amenities as onsite child care, an elder care information and referral programme, an onsite healthcare centre, wellness programs, a 58 000-square-foot recreation and fitness centre with natatorium, an extensive package of benefits and many other work/life programmes.

The policies derive from the employee-focused philosophy behind SAS's famed corporate culture: if you treat employees as if they make a difference to the company, they will make a difference to the company. Carolina Parent will publish its 10th annual family-friendly list in the September issue of each regional North Carolina publication: Carolina Parent in the Triangle, Piedmont Parent in the Triad and Charlotte Parent. Additionally, the list will feature specific family-friendly benefits at each chosen company. The winners of the 2008 Top 40 NC Family-Friendly Companies will be honoured on Wednesday, 17 September, at the Women@Work Breakfast in Durham, NC. The breakfast will feature speaker Pamela Stone, an author and professor in the Department of Sociology at Hunter College, and the Graduate Centre, University of New York.
