SAT, an IT industry solution provider, has been recognised by Microsoft South Africa as the showcase winner in the Western Cape region for the most successful roll-out of Small Business Server (SBS) 2000 into another organisation.
The Partner Show Case 2002 involved Microsoft calling on its Certified Partners to submit case studies that best reflected the successful roll-out of a Microsoft business solution in a small to medium-sized business (SMB).
SAT received recognition for the roll-out of its proactive and preventative operations management services (SATOps) to Kimberly-based Frances Baard District Municipality (FBDM) onto a Small Business Server 2000 platform. "We believe in providing long-term business solutions beneficial to the company's operations and thereby assisting them to attain maximum value from their information systems," says Mark Geschke, Managing Director for SAT.
"Our SATOps service enables us to remotely monitor and manage a company's server platform 24x7," says Geschke. "It furthermore simplifies support and administration by proactively implementing the daily operational tasks which secures and stabilises an IT platform."
This award will see SAT in a road show hosted by Microsoft in Cape Town, aimed at assisting SMBs using technology in the daily running of their businesses, to more effectively identify key functions needed to optimise their IT environments.
The Cape Town road show is scheduled to take place on 31 October, and will offer business decision-makers the opportunity to attend a valuable presentation of SAT's identified best practices based on the requirements of the SMB sector.
Anton Jacobsz, OEM and SMB channel manager at Microsoft South Africa, says: "Microsoft has always been committed to its partners and clients, and is now stepping up its relationship with SMBs. SAT has been instrumental in delivering business and operational solutions to the small and medium market sector, and its latest development on the proactive operations management frontier will certainly see a major improvement in IT service standards."
