At its annual awards ceremony held in Sun City recently, Microsoft South Africa conferred its prestigious Small Business Partner of the Year award to Stellenbosch-based management and operations specialist, Space Age Technologies (SAT).
This year sees the Small Business Partner of the Year award for the first time, and it's extremely fitting that SAT should be the recipient. "We've put in a lot of effort to provide great solutions for the small and medium business (SMB) sector, and this award justifies what we've been up to over the last few years," says Mathias T"olken, Operations Director for SAT.
South Africa's best of breed Microsoft partners were invited to compete for this prestigious award, and face the tough judging criteria. Says Thomas Malinowski, Microsoft SMS&P Partner Manager: "SAT clinched the title from high profile market competitors due to the significant value they offer to the small to medium business sector as well as their technical skills and innovation as a management partner."

SAT, well known for its initiative in proactive infrastructure monitoring, has been playing a very influential role in the small and medium enterprise market over the past few years. According to Geschke, the SMB market is grossly neglected, since most IT providers choose to focus on the more lucrative enterprise front. "As a small business, SAT appreciates the needs and constraints SMBs are faced with, and as such we are committed to stay focused on this market segment."
