Leading network infrastructure provider SBS has expanded its product range to include Windows NT-solution products from Server Tools, a member of the Dimension Data Group.
The R90 million-a-year turnover SBS has operated in the IT industry for 15 years. The company is a Microsoft NT and Compaq solution provider, rated as one of Compaq`s most successful premier partners. It also offers consulting, network management, and helpdesk services.
"We`ve seen network products come and go as technology has changed," says Tony Davies, marketing and sales director of SBS. "With South Africa taking the NT route apace, Server Tools` add-ons are becoming more and more important to make NT operate at its peak."
SBS`s relationship with Server Tools goes back to 1997 when Server Tools first began supplying software tools that put NT into top gear. "Server Tools` range of products and technical support have helped us fulfil our role as network managers and solution providers, not only improving management of our networks, but adding real value to what we sell to our clients," says Davies.
As a reseller for Server Tools, SBS has sold NT add-ons worth millions of Rand into some of the country`s prime IT sites including, MTN, M-Tel, Denel, BOE and Hofmeyr Attorneys, the biggest attorneys` practice in SA.
"MTN, for example, is the largest Faxination site in the country," says Davies. Faxination is an enterprise faxing solution which has been responsible for some of SBS`s greatest successes. Other Server Tools products available from SBS are: PowerQuest`s Drive Image, a workstation cloner; Executive Software`s Diskeeper, used to defrag NT; and Simac Space Guard, a space usage controller. "NetIQ AppManager Suite is also proving a winner," says Davies.
Since becoming an authorised Symantec distributor late last year, Server Tools has been supplying SBS with this range as well.
