Specialised Business Systems (SBS) were awarded the Compaq Outstanding Performance Premier Partner of the year award for their achievement of growing sales by 174 percent.
Tony Davies, SBS marketing director, said the growth had been achieved thanks to the total dedication of the Compaq sales and support team.
"When we decided four years ago to align ourselves with the Compaq brand and become a Compaq premier business partner, we believed very strongly that it offered the best value for money to our business client base. Their world-wide reputation, support and backup and best of breed product was directly in line with our own business philosophy," Davies said.
"Because SBS is a service-based Company, we fitted in perfectly with Compaq`s own dedication to service excellence," he said.
That they managed to get the mix of service and backup exactly right was evidenced by the staggering growth the company notched up last year, Davies said.
It is a highly competitive market with narrow margins and the business community insists on the very best service and support, which SBS provides.
"With Compaq`s superior quality equipment and our value-add in terms of the very best possible support and backup, we have formed an unbeatable partnership," he said.
Having won the award three consecutive years, SBS in determined to make it four in a row this year.
"We are able to prove to our customers in black and white that the total cost of ownership (TCO) of the Compaq range of products is superior to anything else on the South African market. Coupled with the superior service that we are able to provide, we have a winner on our hands."
Paul Keates, SBS technical director adds, "Part of the SBS service system is to supply loan machines whenever possible and certainly in the case of mission critical network servers, a loan machine is installed at the same time that the original machine is removed for service."
