SC Magazine selects the PGP Encryption Platform as the Most Innovative Encryption Product in 2007

Information security innovators recognised for strategic security solutions.

PGP Corporation, a global leader in enterprise data protection, today announced that SC Magazine, the oldest and most widely read IT security publication in the United States, has named the PGP Encryption Platform as one of its most innovative encryption products of the year.

In 2007, PGP Corporation also received SC Magazine`s coveted "Best Buy" recognition for the two encryption group tests conducted (whole disk and e-mail encryption).

According to SC Magazine Technology Editor Peter Stephenson: "Hands down for encryption, the winner was the PGP Encryption Platform. In fact, in my role as chief information security officer at Norwich University, my main objective is to deploy encryption. I reviewed and rated PGP Desktop Email the `Best Buy` in our September issue.

"The ability to quickly update encryption capabilities with the PGP Encryption Platform set PGP Corporation apart from the competition. This is the agility and flexibility I need. When it came to encryption, the editors were unanimous in their decision, reflecting the consistently high level of innovation at PGP Corporation."

SC Magazine`s SC Labs team singled out the industry`s most innovative products for 2007 in a special section of its December issue dedicated to innovators in the information security market. Selection was based on a product evaluation and analysis that focused on a strategic systems platform versus a point solution approach.

The first of its yearly Look Ahead group tests that will honour SC Magazine Innovators, this year`s product review covers access control, analysis and testing, perimeter defence, data protection, and security infrastructure tools. For this test, the publication sought to help readers answer the question: "If we are going to buy security tools in the next 12 to 18 months, what should we be looking at?" The primary criteria for the test included shelf-life, innovation, usefulness, and comprehensiveness.

"Our innovation has been in delivering robust encryption solutions to defend confidential data throughout the enterprise and beyond," said Phil Dunkelberger, president and CEO of PGP Corporation. "This is the second time this year that the PGP Encryption Platform has been recognised as a breakthrough approach to protecting data simply and cost-effectively without impacting the business.

"Thanks to the dedication of our development team, PGP continues to deliver new encryption applications and key management to protect data, the lifeblood of every business, and bring new efficiency to compliance initiatives. We value SC Magazine`s continued validation of our efforts."
