SCS recently entered into an agreement with IBM to be SA's first accredited vendor of IBM's powerful end-to-end e-learning suite, Mindspan Solutions, providing users with the ability to plan, create and deploy best-of-breed e-learning solutions.

SCS has recently installed Mindspan for Safmarine in Cape Town and Antwerp, as part of a global implementation of the MEPC (Product Catalogue) project. This was the first commercial implementation of LearningSpace in Cape Town.

Mindspan is delivered using a fully blended approach with four 'tiers' of delivery including self-training, coaching simulation, group learning and classroom learning. Mindspan Solutions allows for savings in travel, time and costs, and increases employee satisfaction thus maximising a company's training investment. Mindspan is fully customisable and can be extended to meet companies' specific management development training needs.
SCS consultants are able to link the curriculum with a companies' content, thereby converting the customer's content to this new approach and developing custom assessments. This means that organisations will not lose any investment they might have made in their existing content.
Furthermore, Mindspan's Management Development Training Solution is designed to help companies improve employee leadership skills, work climate and retention rates. It allows managers to understand how to address new and different work environments, such as managing in large, complex organisations and collaborating across worldwide departments
The Learning Management System (LMS) central to the Minspan e-learning solution is the highly successful LearningSpace, which makes reporting on skills development seamless. Trainers and HR personnel are able to generate 27 standard reports from the LMS, including who has completed what training, when and with what result. Additional customised reporting is also available. Reporting to the SETAs could be as simple as a click of a button.
