Safmarine Computer Services (SCS), an Advanced IBM Business Partner, specialising in the provision of integrated IT business solutions to a wide spectrum of corporate and industrial clients, was awarded top honours in two categories at the IBM Business Partners' Software University on Wednesday, 7 August 2002.
In the first category, SCS was recognised as the Western Cape Business Partner who generated the most revenue sales into the general mid-market segment for the first half of 2002.
SCS was further commended for a nationwide roadshow, which saw the launch of three broad areas of service now available to external clients: Lotus Solutions, Business Solutions and Hosting Solutions over May and June this year. The initiative was judged as the Business Partner event best promoting both IBM and its technology.
"As a new Advanced Business Partner it's impressive to see how SCS's commitment to IBM has paid off and how quickly they've advanced," says IBM Business Partner Sales Manager, Tony Abrahall.
Kevin Simpson, SCS Lotus Solutions Divisional Director who received both awards, said: "The main aim of the launches earlier this year focused on gearing SCS up to be a major player in the IT business solution arena in Africa, not only within the AP Moller Group but to external clients as well."
