SDD gets Cisco agency

Siltek Distribution Dynamics (SDD), the focused IT company in the Siltek IT Supply Chain Group, has a contract with the local Cisco office to distribute the company's hubs, routers and switching equipment.

Clinton Henning, product manager at SDD, says SDD will be targeting the Cisco products at users who have a requirement to link their branch offices around the country as well as the small to medium enterprise market.

In terms of supporting the product, Cisco will perform the pre-sales function and support installations. "You require different skill levels to support the various types of equipment available from Cisco," says Henning. "There is also a toll-free number linked directly to Cisco to cater for lower-end support needs."

Although SDD is not a full service and implementation partner of Cisco the distribution agreement between the two companies offers SDD preferential pricing, a feature that will allow SDD to gain well-targeted market penetration, says Henning.

He adds: "Cisco has placed a local representative at our offices who will be handling calls for the product, thus confirming their commitment to the channel.

"With existing interest in the product being extremely high we expect it to perform positively for SDD," Henning says.
