SDD software division parts ways with Corel

Strategic measure to focus software product offering
Johannesburg, 23 Apr 2001

In a move to streamline its software offering, the software division of SDD has ended its relationship with Corel, a vendor whose products include Corel Draw and Corel Linux.

According to Gary Pickford, general manager for software and consumables at SDD, this move has been taken in order to improve the profitability of the software division while also offering a more focused product set.

"We are focusing the software division on its key performance areas by forming partnerships with the vendors that best fit our own strategy," states Pickford. By doing this, he says, SDD will also be in a position to ensure that the skills of its sales staff are raised to a higher level to give better service to its resellers.

SDD continues to represent a broad range of products through its software division.
