The Port Elizabeth branch of SDD has come out in support of the recent opening of the new Compaq SA office in Port Elizabeth (PE). Compaq has targeted PE for its new office to reinforce its commitment to both channel partners and their customers in the region.
"This new office will bolster Compaq's presence and allow for comprehensive training of channel partners in the Eastern Cape region. SDD and Compaq already have a sound relationship, and the PE office will allow us to target new clients as well as increase our general market share locally," says Warren van der Merwe, SDD's PE branch manager.
The Eastern Cape region was traditionally serviced by Compaq's Cape Town and Johannesburg offices whereas SDD's PE office has been in operation since 1995, giving SDD a firm and loyal client base. "This will allow SDD and Compaq to strengthen ties and concentrate on synergies. Compaq's Cape Town branch manager, Pierre Jordaan, and I have been in discussions about Compaq's new PE office for some time now, so we should be hitting the ground running," states Van der Merwe.
"We believe the Eastern Cape region is showing real growth and with our mutual commitment the opportunity for increased business within the second tier client database is ripe," concludes Van der Merwe.
