Cirrus TechVue, sole representative in SA for Software Diversified Services (SDS), a leading provider of enterprise software, has announced the Vital Signs VisionNet IP Monitor (VIP), new software that provides network managers with browser-based, real-time information on the status and health of TCP/IP networks running on z/OS or OS/390 mainframe systems.
SDS VIP gathers event, status, utilisation and traffic data at mainframe hosts and displays it real-time on desktop Web browsers.

The software reports on hundreds of fields, including connection counts, backlogs, response times, application availability, buffer utilisation, and much more. It also provides a robust and customisable alert system to notify users when network event measures exceed specified thresholds. Unique features of the software include the ability to run complete packet traces on any stack, and view traces in real-time, as packets move through stacks, and/or save them to mainframe datasets.
SDS VIP works independently or in collaboration with Vital Signs VisionNet (VSV), SDS`s economical performance monitor for everything on z/OS-OS/390, TCP/IP and SNA networks.
