Aidan Baigrie is leaving Seacom at the end of the week, after four years as head of business development.

Aidan Baigrie has resigned as Seacom's head of business development to "pursue personal ventures".

Baigrie, who joined the submarine cable operator in early 2009, says he is leaving the company at the end of the week to "take time out", and that he will remain in Johannesburg - where he has been based throughout his four-year tenure with Seacom. Baigrie's role at Seacom included business development, marketing and pricing strategy.

A passionate speaker on the ICT and landscape in Africa, Baigrie spent about a decade in business consulting, prior to joining Seacom.

He holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Cape Town and an MBA from the ESADE Business School, in Spain.
